11 Badass Ladies Who Deserve More Than They Got

$

0

There are some TV characters who have gone through hell and back. Some of those have literally. (Sara Lance, anyone?)

Even after so much development has been done and the characters grow so much, unknown forces prevent those characters from ever achieving the results they could.

Some achieve their greatness, but don't live the life they deserve after. They lost so much in the battle.

These characters spend so much time working through a problem, or tragedy, only to be pushed to the sideline, or the character lived such a terrible life that they were never able to recover and live a happier life.

We've compiled a gallery of badass TV ladies that deserved better lives than they were granted.

1. Laurel Lance - Arrow

Hugging the wall arrow s4e14
Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) has led a troubled life, also. When her sister "died" while cheating with her boyfriend, her family fell apart as her father fell into alcoholism and her mother divorced him. Then, Oliver returned, without her sister. The anger she wasn't allowed to feel over the grief of losing them prevailed, especially when Sara returned home. Her sister had been alive and she was the reason their family had fallen apart. If they had known, things could have been different. As soon as Sara was alive, she was dead again. Murdered. Laurel had an anger inside of her only managed by becoming the Black Canary. Her journey was rough. Oliver gave her no support. Instead, he told her to stop and refused to train her to join him in the field. With rumors of her death circulating after speculation online, it would be a shame to see so much character growth even more underutilized than it is now.

2. Sara Lance - DC's Legends of Tomorrow

Eye catching dcs legends of tomorrow s1e8
Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) had a miserable time on Arrow. After being stranded on Lian Yu with Oliver Queen, Sara was forced to join the League of Assassins to survive. 5 years later and her return to Starling City is hardly welcomed by her older sister, Laurel, Oliver's girlfriend that Sara was sleeping with when the Queen's Gambit went down. Before they can completely reconnect, Sara goes back to the League after they helped stop Slade from destroying the city, and in a moment, she was dead. Malcolm Merlyn brainwashed his daughter to murder Sara to set Oliver down a path with the League. She was murdered as nothing but a plot device for both Oliver and Laurel, as she started her journey as the Black Canary. Once resurrected, Sara lost her soul, her body a feral creature. Now, soul returned, on DC's Legends of Tomorrow, she is searching for a purpose and redemption, still dealing with the aftermath of her death.

3. Spencer Hastings - Pretty Little Liars

Youre doing what pretty little liars s6e12
Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) has always endured the hardest torment from the liars' infamous stalkers. She's been framed and accused of murder, multiple times, drove crazy and locked away in an institution and her life has been hectic, regardless. Her family has always treated her as the pariah: never approving of her choices, not approving of her first best friend, Alison, and comparing all of her achievements to her sister's. Five years later and Spencer still gets the short end of the stick. Her current boyfriend, Caleb, cheated on her with his ex, and her best friend, Hanna. While this -A has left her alone, Mona and Charlotte attacked her with everything they had, seeing her as the only real competition of the four liars.

4. Amanda Clarke/Emily Thorne - Revenge

Help please revenge s4e22
Amanda Clarke (Emily VanCamp), also known as Emily Thorne, had her childhood ruined by the Graysons. Her father framed for terrorism and she was left to rot in the foster care system. Years later, she did what she had to do: she plotted and enacted her revenge against the people who framed her father. She lost many people during the years: Fauxmanda, the person whom she called her sister, Daniel Grayson, the man she used as part of her plan but developed real feelings for, and Aiden Mathis, the only person who understood her revenge. In a strange plot twist, her father returned, alive and free, but his return was shadowed by Aiden's death. After Amanda partially got her revenge, Victoria fought back, leading to an epic showdown, where Victoria was killed. Soon after, her father died of cancer. She lost so many people, as did the people she loved and trusted, but her father's death was cruel. She was without him her whole life and hardly a year after he returned, he was dead, again.

5. Emma Becker - The Lying Game

The lying game premiere pic
Emma Becker (Alexandra Chando) fought so hard to have a family. After growing up in foster care, she was reunited with her twin sister, Sutton (Chando), who was adopted by a wealthy family. After Sutton convinces her to pretend to be her for a few days, Emma is sucked into a life of lies. Through that she grows close to Sutton's boyfriend, Ethan, who becomes her boyfriend, but still has feelings for Sutton. The Lying Game was cancelled too soon after too much murder before we saw Emma get the family she deserved: the family she always craved.

6. Nikita Mears - Nikita

Maggie q for nikita
Another show cancelled too soon, Nikita Mears (Maggie Q) was perhaps the worst off of all characters. Recruited by a secret government agency and forced to kill, Nikita escaped and vowed to take down Division. She fought with Alex, who later turned on her for a short time, and took down Percy, the man who ran Division. Forced by the government again to take over Division, they began to hunt agents who did not come in after an order by the President. But Amanda, another head of Division, and her grudge against Nikita remained, leading to the President being assassinated and Nikita being framed. The show had to wrap up its mission in six episodes, where Nikita took to drastic measures to clear her name, only to lose more and more loved ones along the way. In the end, her and Michael, her boyfriend, were able to settle down, but they couldn't. Who could sit on a beach, anyways?

17 Controversial Character Exits That Left Us Asking WHY?!?

$

TV is a big revolving door of characters coming and going.

If we watch a show for any length of time, we expect a fitting conclusion for a character.

What we don't expect is for the character to leave in a way that's so far out of character, that you still hold a grudge about it years later.

Not all of these characters left the show in a coffin. Some of them left their show and took what was left of the show with them.

We've compiled a gallery of 17 of the most controversial exits for you below!

1. Abbie - Sleepy Hollow

Abbie sleepy hollow
This one pretty much came out of nowhere. Abbie was brutally killed off in the first half of the third season, but she came back. Then the season finale rolled around and she was gone for good with the actress departing the show. It was anti-climactic primarily because she was killed off earlier in the season.

2. Laurel - Arrow

Laurel arrow
Laurel was taken very recently and it was the most horrible thing to watch. The character had been sidelined all season, so it was obvious the writers couldn't think of anything for her to do, so they killed her off in order to kick start the pace of the show. Instead, all they've done is piss off fans worldwide and catered to the minority that ships Olicity.

3. Stephen - Scandal

Stephen scandal
Remember when Henry Ian Cusick ditched Scandal after the freshman run with terrible resolution? Yeah, we're still not over this one. It would be great if he somehow returned, but that's unlikely considering he's over on The CW's The 100.

4. Rebekah - The Originals

Rebekah the originals
Rebekah keeps popping back up sporadically, but it's only a fan service. The last time she appeared she was staked and put away to keep her safe, but it's kind of annoying knowing that if she comes back, she'll only be around for an episode or two. It's time to wrap her storyline up for good unless she comes back permanently.

5. Lexa - The 100

Lexa the 100
This one was outrageous. She was such a badass character and all the writers could come up with was that she was killed by a stray bullet. That's not how to say goodbye to one of the best characters in your show!

6. Ethan - 90210

Ethan 90210
How do you revamp a show that's lacking? Cut one of the best characters! Yeah, that was a very odd decision by the powers that be in favor of trying to make us love Liam. Plot twist: It didn't work.

21 Shows with Serious Girl Power

$

Now these are squad goals.

Through everything, these girls stick together and realize their relationship with each other is more important than some guy with top ramen hair that would probably smell like a lake of mixed colognes if he were real.

Some of them even save the others' lives, repeatedly, and have such a true sense of trust that their exceed the limitation of friendship and become sisters, or are actually sisters to begin with.

There's one thing we can count on for sure: they stick together. If they're friends. Otherwise, you can be sure they will try their best to ruin lives.

Like Emily Thorne, for instance. Her and Victoria were far from friends, but they are two of the strongest women on television.

Below are 21 of our favorite girl power TV shows.

1. Pretty Little Liars

Pretty little liars
Pretty Little Liars follows Hanna, Aria, Spencer, and Emily through their unbelievable and relentless torment and torture at the hands (or texts) of their infamous villain: A. A has been revealed numerous times, yet always comes back stronger, with more power and a rapidly quenched thirst for their blood. They've stuck together through the worst of times, along with the friend Alison and frenemy Mona, and save each others' lives countless times.

2. Orange is the New Black

Orange is the new black
Everyone's heard about Orange is the New Black. When Piper Chapman is sentenced to 15 months in prison, she's acquianted with a crowd of interesting, fiesty, fierce, and sometimes destructive women that can only rely on each other in confines of the messed up justice system. Each has their own story, their own crime, and their own methods of dealing with prison life, but they come together (never all together, somebody might die) and have become friends.

3. Scream Queens

Scream queens
What we do without the Chanels? Chanel, Chanel #3, and Chanel #5, are one of the tightest knit group of friends on television. They accuse each other of murder, then help cover it up to protect them, and save their lives. Even though they're all bitches, let's be honest, here's hoping they find a way to take crazy Hester back to the nuthouse in Scream Queens Season 2 this Fall.

4. Mistresses

Mistresses
Mistresses follows Joss, Karen, April, and formerly Savi, as they live drama-filled, sometimes disasterous lives in Los Angeles. Karen follows her heart into the most scandalous places, including a relationship with her patient and an intense polyamorous relationship in Season 3, while Joss is the free spirit who strikes up a relationship with her sister Savi's ex-husband, which is why Savi left the show. April is a mom, who is just finding her passion after putting it on hold to raise her daughter, and deals with a husband's betrayal. These girls stick together through the most scandalous times and will risk nothing to save the ones they love.

5. Rizzoli & Isles

Rizzoli and isles
Rizzoli and Isles, the perfect crime-solving team. Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles found a friendship in their dark line of work: Jane as a homocide detective and Maura as the coroner. With Rizzoli's street smarts and Isles' book smarts, they've helped each other grow and are unstoppable.

6. Girls

Girls
Created by and starring Lena Dunham, Girls follows four girls (Hannah, Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshanna) through their lives of ups and downs in New York City. They can count on each other in the hardest times as they attempt to figure out who they are and what they want from life, while dealing with hectic love lives.

TV shows are known for having a lot of drama.

There's times when the drama gets a little too much for some characters and they lash out.

It's their way of venting their frustration.

We've compiled some of the best slaps on television.

1. Momma Vanderwaal Slaps Alison - Pretty Little Liars

Miss vanderwaal slaps alison pretty little liars
Remember when everyone thought Mona was dead and that Ali killed her? It was only a matter of time before someone slapped Alison, but I kind of felt sorry for her.

2. Victoria Lays Down The Law - Revenge

Victoria lays down the law revenge
Revenge was known for showing the glitz and glamour of The Hamptons, but it was also great at showing just how much Victoria Grayson loved to make everyone listen to her every word.

3. Tyrion Slaps Joffrey - Game of Thrones

Tyrion slaps joffrey game of thrones
Joffrey was always a wicked person, so viewers worldwide LOVED when his uncle Tyrion gave him a good old Westeros slap.

4. Sutton Slaps Emma - The Lying Game

Sutton slaps emma the lying game
Remember The Lying Game? It was better then Pretty Little Liars, but got cut short in Season 2. Sutton was not impressed with Emma stepping into her life for too long.

5. Santana Slaps Finn - Glee

Santana slaps finn glee
Santana and Finn made a cute couple, but Santana was not someone to be messed with.

6. Elena Slaps Stefan - The Vampire Diaries

Elena slaps stefan the vampire diaries
Elena loves slapping the Salvatore brothers. Stefan may not have been in the right frame of mind, but Elena seemed to think the back of her hand would knock some sense into him.

Some of our favorite TV families are the ones we'd never want to be a part of.

And some of them? Some of them are downright dangerous.

From organized crime families to those who just like to break the law, here are 13 of the coolest criminal families on TV!

1. The Popes (Scandal)

Rowan pope responds scandal season 4 episode 5
Papa Pope is one of the worst villains around, believing himself to be above the law and killing without mercy. His daughter fights against him, but Olivia is sometimes more like her father than she wants to believe.

2. The Graysons (Revenge)

The happy graysons
Talk about a twisted family. The Graysons will do just about anything to keep up appearances, even if it means breaking the law or turning on one another.

3. The Thompsons (Boardwalk Empire)

Business in cuba boardwalk empire
The Thompsons are definitely one of the coolest criminal families. Nucky Thompson appears to be a respectable political figure, but he spends the rest of his time bootlegging alcohol in this prohibition-era drama set in Atlantic City.

4. The Shelby Family (Peaky Blinders)

The shelby family peaky blinders
The Shelbys run an illegal gambling ring in post-war England, and they know how to work together to get a job done. They're clever, fearless, and very, very cool.

5. The Botwins (Weeds)

Weeds finale scene
Is there really any family cooler (and more dysfunctional) than the Botwin family? Led by Nancy Botwin, they make their living selling weed, getting into plenty of trouble along the way.

6. The Codys (Animal Kingdom)

Animal kingdom family
The Cody's are a twisted family led by matriarch "Smurf." They do their work by the beach, and they stick together even when they're ready to tear each other apart. But whatever you do, don't lie to Smurf. Just don't.

11 Shows That Would Have Worked Better On Cable

$
0
0

There are some TV shows that are wasted on broadcast TV.

Broadcast television is notorious for having more episodes of shows, therefore it results in a more diluted experience.

With people waiting longer for reveals, they lose interest.

There's also the fact that some shows on broadcast just can't go as graphic as they want to and it sucks.

We've compiled a list of 11 shows that would have been better suited to cable.

1. Revenge

Revenge
ABC's sudsy drama struggled to fill full seasons. It would have benefited from a much more concise story by moving over to a cable network like TNT and having a limit of 10 episodes per season. It could have served as a solid companion for Dallas and would probably have resulted in both shows still being on the air today. They also could have went more dark with the psychological elements of Amanda's character. A few swear words from Madelaine Stowe's Victoria Grayson would have fit the bill.

2. Hannibal

Hannibal
NBC's Hannibal really wouldn't need many creative changes. The reason it failed on broadcast was that it was a show built for a niche audience. The subject matter was always something that should have been on cable and had it started there, it would probably thriving on right now.

3. Quantico

Quantico
Quantico tried too hard to be like other ABC hits. It so desperately wanted to be part of TGIT, but ABC left it to heat up their Sunday night schedule. It was originally envisioned as a 13 part limited series, with the option of continuing for further seasons. Had it been on the likes of USA network, the pointless relationship drama would have been trimmed out and made the series infinitely more intriguing. Who really cares about who the recruits are sleeping with?

4. The 100

The 100
Producers of The 100 confirmed that they had to make The 100 fit in with The CW brand and that meant throwing in contrived relationship plots. There was a time when people associated The CW with teen dramas, but now it's becoming the superhero network. The 100 is a rare gem that is unlike anything else on television. It could thrive on like the likes of Syfy for several more years and the show could be paired with shows that actually fit into the genre.

5. Containment

Containment
The CW's Containment just seemed so off brand for the network. It was only picked up to keep Julie Plec happy, but could you imagine if it went to Showtime? It would have had a much better cast, darker plot and the chance of continuing on for another few years. I'm not saying all of the cast were bad. A select few were fantastic, but they just didn't do the show much justice. It probably didn't help that the show was super expensive.

6. Reign

Reign
Reign is just all over the place on The CW. The White Queen looked visually stunning on Starz. Would it have killed The CW to throw some money Mary Queen Of Scot's way? I'm pretty sure I witnessed someone wearing a hoodie on Reign. The show just comes across as cheap. No wonder the leads are dropping like flies.

14 Shows That Alienated Their Fan Base

Don't you just hate it when your favorite TV show becomes one of the worst?

When you invest so much time into the characters and the world they live in, you can get easily annoyed if the show changes things up and not in a good way.

It sucks, but it happens. Some of the shows on the list have been off the air for quite a few years, but we still feel very strongly about what went wrong.

Scroll down for the full list.

1. Arrow

Arrow
The constant back and forth between Olicity got old real quick. The tension of working in life or death situations every single day with the person you love couldn’t have been an easy task. Taking time away from what is meant to be an action show and making it a daytime soap was the death knell for the couple. Now, that’s not to say they won’t reunite in the series finale. Any earlier and there’s bound to be a whole host of fans who get even more pissed with the show.

2. The Walking Dead

The walking dead
The Walking Dead has always been a violent show, but the Season 7 premiere really went overboard when new villain, Negan, murdered both Glenn and Abraham in grisly fashion. We’re talking heads being smashed to smithereens and eyes popping out of heads. The episode served as one of the show’s highest rated, but then the backlash sent the ratings downwards and it’s currently hitting multi-year lows.

3. True Blood

True blood
True Blood was always a series that was over the top. Initially, it was about vampires and shapeshifters, but it then started introducing werewolves, fairies and witches. It took what many loved about the show and completely ruined it. It resulted in one of the worst series finales in the history of television. Sookie ending up with neither Bill, or Eric was just pointless and a slap in the face to the fans who stuck with the show.

4. Empire

Empire
Empire was a HUGE hit when it first hit the air. Following the world of the music industry, it made us fall in love with the Lyon family, who struggled to keep their high profile by staying on the straight and narrow. After ratings swelled throughout its inaugural run, producers opted to have pretty much every star on the planet appear. It took away valuable time from the characters who weren’t that fleshed out to begin with. Season 3 is trying to right that wrong, but the show is hitting new lows every week in the ratings.

5. Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy hollow
When you think of the TV adaptation of Sleepy Hollow, you think of Tom Mison’s Ichabod Crane and Nicole Beharies’ Abby Mills. Right?! You can only imagine how shocked fans were when Abby departed the show for good at the end of Season 3. Fans made their voices heard and claimed they would be steering clear of a potential fourth season if the duo was not intact. Fox, surprisingly renewed the show for a fourth season with a new lead to replace Abby. Will it last the season?

6. Gossip Girl

Gossip girl
Most teen dramas have a knack for all of the key players sleeping with each other at some point. It’s sort of what happens when the writers are running low on ideas. If you’re a Gossip Girl fan, you are probably SUPER protective of Chuck and Blair, so I really feel bad that you guys had to endure Blair and Dan becoming a short-term thing. In the end, all became right when Chuck and Blair got married, while Dan returned Serena. I bet Serena and Blair are still arguing about it right now.

If you've been watching This is Us, you've probably already fallen in love with Jack Pearson, played by Milo Ventimiglia. He's a man who's willing to work hard, and he's one heck of an amazing father to his three children.

6. Jack Shephard (Lost)

Jack picture
This wouldn't be a list of unforgettable Jacks without Lost's Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox). He quickly found himself to be the leader of the group, and proved his skills on more than one occasion. He also also managed to be pretty infuriating at times.

Owner of The Emerald City Bar across from the hospital, Joe could take a little credit for Meredith and Derek's love story. In the very least, he was the person who watched them meet for the first time. And when he collapsed in the bar, he was lucky to be surrounded by doctors, and received an out of the ordinary operation that saved his life. It's a been a while since we've seen good old Joe, though there's no explanation to why that is.

5. Luke Cage (Jessica Jones / Luke Cage)

Luke Cage is likely the coolest bartender on this list. We first see him appear on Jessica Jones when she stops by his bar, but we quickly learn his bartending abilities are nothing compared to his superhuman abilities.

6. Dee (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia)

Dee its always sunny in philadelphia
True, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Dee isn't exactly what you'd call a skilled bartender -- or a friendly one -- but she certainly is memorable!

13 Storylines That Totally Sucked

$

0

You’re watching your favorite show and you love it. The concept excites you, the characters have you hooked, and each new episode is must see TV!

But then it happens…that plot you just can't stand.

Sometimes your favorite character becomes  someone you no longer recognize, or does something so stupid you’re tempted to change the channel.

Perhaps it’s a new character who simply doesn’t fit in, or a romance that either never takes off or takes a wrong turn.

How about a character’s death that’s either so devastating you can’t believe it happened or so infuriating you consider tuning out for good.

Come take this walk down memory lane of the 13 plots on TV that we absolutely hated!

1. Castle - Kate Beckett Was Married?!?

A face from her past
Kate Beckett was an intelligent woman and an extraordinary detective…and yet she somehow didn’t know she was legally married to some jerk she met in college?

Not only didn’t it make sense (Beckett had gone through multiple background checks for both NYPD and the Feds), but it destroyed the “one and done” concept that fans had loved about Beckett since Castle Season 1 Episode 2.

The fact that this horrible plot derailed an entire installment that fans believed was going to be filled with Rick and Kate’s wedding just added insult to injury.

Don’t even get us started on the ill-conceived non-wedding/disappearing Castle story that followed!

As for the entirety of Castle Season 8, we’re still pretending that was nothing more than a really bad dream that never actually happened.

2. Revenge - Daniel Dies!

Emily is alive revenge s4e11
We know that Emily and Daniel’s romance started off as Emily’s strategy to take down the Graysons, and things got worse from there, but no one can deny this couple had chemistry! It even spilled over into the actors' real lives.

We know the show was determined to pair Emily with Jack, but we always had a longing to see Daniel and Emily turn their lives around and end up together. The best part would have been how it could have driven Victoria Grayson crazy!

3. How I Met Your Mother - They Killed the Mother!

Cuddle time
The entire point of How I Met Your Mother was to finally see Ted meet the mother of his children! Of course fans also thought they’d get some romance, an actual wedding and perhaps some happily ever after…but they were greatly mistaken.

Fans waited season after to season to meet the much anticipated “Mother” only to have Ted apparently put off their perfect wedding for years, and then have her die!

To make matters worse, Ted then jumped into a “meant to be” relationship with Robin that the show spent all of nine seasons convincing fans was a horrible idea.

In the end, we still feel like we invested in a show and it cheated on us.

4. E.R. - Dr. Romano is Crushed by a Helicopter

Er dr romano is crushed by a helicopter
ER’s run of 15 seasons meant there was plenty to love and plenty of stories we wished had gone differently, but nothing beats the death of Dr. Robert Romano.

Dr. Romano was complex. He could be a complete, arrogant ass…but he also loved his dog, mentored Lucy Knight, and adored Elizabeth Corday even if the feeling was never returned.

When he lost his arm in a helicopter accident, and thus ended his career as a surgeon, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to explore other aspects of his character, but obviously the writers didn’t see it that way.

Instead of character growth, Romano was crushed by a falling chopper as though he was starring in a cartoon. Robert Romano and the fans who rooted for him deserved more than that.

5. Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Dawn Appears

Buffy the vampire slayer dawn appears
We know that Buffy the Vampire Slayer was all about the supernatural, but having Dawn Summers appear out of no where was more than most fans could take.

Dawn, we were told, was actually a mystical power of living energy, called The Key. Thanks to a magical ritual, she was transformed into a teenage girl, who suddenly became Buffy’s supposed younger sister so that the Slayer would protect her from the hell goddess Glorificus.

As if that weren’t confusing enough, Dawn never, ever left…and fans really wished she would. Who knew that fictional, supernatural pre-teens could be even more annoying than the real thing.

6. Roseanne - It Was All a Dream?!?

Roseanne it was all a dream
For nine seasons we rooted for Roseanne and Dan Connor. We rooted for Darlene and David. Heck, we even rooted for Becky, no matter who was playing her.

So when the show pulled the rug out from under us during the series finale by making most of the final season a dream, killing off Dan, and pairing Becky with David and Darlene with Mark, we were dumbfounded.

What the hell did they do? Why? We still don’t have answers.

But thankfully there’s going to be a Roseanne reboot for a limited Season 10…and rumor has it that the dream was all just a dream after all.

13 TV Dads Who Don't Deserve a Father's Day Present!

There are some really great fathers portrayed on television. But just like in real life, there are also the not-so-great ones.

We've compiled a list that pays tribute to them all: from fathers who were never there, to fathers who loved their liquor bottles, to fathers who despised what their children had become, to fathers who loved their children but had a twisted way of showing it.

Seriously, you should thank your lucky stars you don't have to call these dudes "dad."

These are dads who would never get a Father's Day gift.

1. Eli Pope - Scandal

Rowan pope scandal
Eli Pope is the definition of a bad parent. He kept Olivia in the dark about his secret life and allowed her to think her mom died in a plane crash. Eventually, she learned that mama Pope was actually a terrorist, and he was Command of B613, a covert government organization that tortures men and turns them into assassins.

Eli would kill in anyone that stood in his way, and a few times, his riff with his daughter almost ended with spilled blood. I can't even count all the times Liv tried to secretly take him out for his Machiavellian-level schemes. Still, she always maintained some relationship with "dad" by attending weekly dinners and drowning the dysfunction in bottles of fine wine.

2. Blake Carrington - Dynasty

Blake carrington dynasty
Blake 2.0 on the rebooted CW series Dynasty still earns the title of a "self-righteous dad." He puts the company ahead of his children and often manipulates them to turn a profit. What else could you expect from the entrepreneurial patriarch?

Lying to his children is only the tip of the iceberg; he snuffed out his new wife Cristal from the company, blatantly lied to the media about the damage his company was doing to neighboring towns, and almost let his daughter marry her half-cousin. Actually, he's not just a crappy dad, he's a bad person. His only redeeming quality is that he isn't homophobic and openly accepts his gay son.

3. Mikeal Mikealson - The Originals

Mikeal mikealson the originals
Hating your son is grounds for winning the "bad father" award around here. However, Mikeal's distaste for his son went further than hatred -- he could never love him because Niklaus reminded him of his wife's betrayal. That distaste led him to chase Niklaus around the world for 1,000 years in hopes of killing him. What kind of father does that? Because of it, Mikeal turned all of his other kids against himself as well.

Klaus' daddy issues have manifested themselves in his relationship with daughter, Hope. He believes he'll spare her from the pain if he simply removes himself from her life, but it's that fear of disappointing her that makes him a better father than Mikeal ever could be.

4. Lucious Lyon - Empire

Lucious lyon empire
The former drug-dealer turned music mogul is an infectious disease when it comes to his family. He uses his sons in a power-struggle with ex-wife Cookie Lyon and pits them against each other to weed out the weakest link in hopes of choosing a successor.

He also despises Jamal's homosexuality and is dismissive of Andre's mental illness. We'll never get rid of the image of him putting his son in the trash can for wearing heels. There is nothing worse than a father who cannot be supportive of his own blood.

5. Dan Scott - One Tree Hill

Dan scott one tree hill
Dan Scott was a nightmare from hell to sons Lucas and Nathan. His claim to fame in terms of making the "worst dad on the TV" list had to be murdering his brother, Keith, out of jealousy. He hated that he was a father figure to estranged son, Lucas.

And don't think Lucas had it easy because he was abandoned. Dan manipulated Nathan into making Lucas' life a living hell, and when the pressure to make his father proud became too much to handle, Nathan emancipated himself.

6. Conrad Grayson - Revenge

Conrad grayson revenge
To be completely frank, Conrad Grayson was the most villainous man the Hampton's had ever seen. He was involved in a terrorist organization responsible for a plane crash that killed hundreds of innocent people and worse, blamed it on his wife's innocent lover and ruined his life. He raised his two children to be spoiled brats who cherished power and wealth over anything else but really, they should have used him as an example of what not to grow up to be.

19 TV Marriage Proposals Where The 2nd (or 3rd) Time Was The Charm

First comes love, then comes marriage, or so goes the old rhyme. When people think they have met the one, it is only a matter of time until they pop the question.

Hopefully, after that, it is all smooth sailing. Sometimes, not so much. Sometimes the proposal is rejected, or the couple gets torn apart. For whatever reason, a wedding doesn't happen.

With the turmoil that writers often put couples through, it would be easy to give up. However, some refuse to.

Some say, "So what if we didn't end up getting married the first time around? So what if I got rejected, or I lost you? You're with me now, and I love you, so I'm going to propose to you again, and again, until I get a yes, and a wedding, and get to call you my wife/husband!"

It takes a lot to propose twice, but these paramours did it. Some of them proposed more than twice, and you might be surprised by who I'm talking about.

Here's a list of the those so determined to tie the knot that they proposed not once, but twice (and sometimes thrice).

1. Killain Proposes To Emma -- Once Upon A Time

Killain proposes to emma
On Once Upon A Time Season 6 Episode 13, Emma found a ring among Killian's things and forces a proposal, which would be all well and good if he weren't hiding the fact that he killed her grandfather. This leads to an engagement, the truth coming out, a fight, and Killian being whisked away by a villain. On Once Upon A Time Season 6 Episode 17, after overcoming those determined to keep them apart, Killian once again gets down on one knee and pledges to always be by Emma's side. She said yes the first time, and then fought like hell to get him back, so it's no surprise when Emma, once again, agrees to be Killian's wife mere episodes after the first proposal.

2. Barry Proposes To Iris -- The Flash

Barry proposes to iris
The Flash Season 3 Episode 14 ends with Barry Allen asking Iris West to marry him. Since we didn't actually see her say yes, fans had a feeling that this wasn't the "real proposal" WestAllen fans had been waiting for. Sure enough, when Iris learns that Barry only proposed as a way to change the timeline so she wouldn't die, she begins to have doubts. The two come apart briefly, but on The Flash Season 3 Episode 17 they come back together, and WestAllen fans get the magical proposal scene they were waiting for. What's better than Grant Gustin singing "Running Home To You" as he gets down on bended knee? Not much. This scene makes a relatively corny musical episode and two proposals in less than five episodes completely worth it.

3. Daniel Proposes To Emily -- Revenge

Daniel proposes to emily revenge
The first time Daniel Grayson proposed to Emily Thorne on Revenge Season 1 Episode 13, it was magical. It was aboard the yacht where they first met. He was wearing "the jacket." Daniel refused to be deterred by the rain, pouring his heart out to the woman who he thought was the love of his life, and she accepted. Then Daniel's true Grayson colors showed. Emily became disgusted with him and took the first excuse to end things when she thought her revenge was over, only renewing the relationship when it was necessary. His second attempt on Revenge Season 2 Episode 19 put Emily on the spot about their future on live television. Afterward, he issued an ultimatum: get engaged or break-up. Emily said yes for ulterior revenge motives, but what we have here is an example of a guy who should probably have only proposed once.

4. Robin Proposes To Marian -- BBC's Robin Hood

Robin proposes to marian bbc s robin hood
This one is a bit of a cheat because we never saw the first proposal. When the series begins, Robin is returning from The Crusades. Over the course of the season, we learn that he and Marian had been engaged before he left her to fight in the war, effectively ending the relationship. She is none too happy to see him upon his return, but throughout season one, the two reconnect and eventually reconcile. On BBC's Robin Hood Season 2 Episode 9, Marian's father gets killed. After the two have buried him, Marian asks Robin if he wants to say a few words, and the words he chooses are a proposal. It shows how far the two have come that Marian accepts, even if she takes her time about it. Really, these two deserved better than how they ended. I'm still not over it.

5. Lavon Proposes To Lemon -- Hart of Dixie

Lavon proposes to lemon hart of dixie
Lavon Hayes's proposal to Lemon Breeland on Hart of Dixie Season 4 Episode 9 was the perfect proposal. Taking your girlfriend to the most romantic spot on your property where lit candles are spelling out "Will You Marry Me?" What could be better? Except that the proposal was meant for someone else. Lemon and Lavon happening upon it when he was talking about their future together was a mere coincidence. Lavon was thrilled to be engaged to the girl of his dreams, even if it happened by accident. When he fessed up at their engagement party, Lemon was hurt and furious. So Lavon set up a romantic proposal to make it up to her, but their friends needed them. The ended up in a car together, which Lavon pulled over, proposing to Lemon on the side of the road. This time it was real, and Lemon was touched.

6. Max Proposes To Lorelai -- Gilmore Girls

Max proposes to lorelai gilmore girls
The first time Max proposes to Lorelai on Gilmore Girls Season 1 Episode 21, she does not take him seriously. They were fighting, and as Lorelai says, "a proposal has to be more than a desperate attempt to end a bickering match." She continues, saying, "It should be magical. There should be 1000 yellow daisies." She convinces Max that proposes then is crazy, and it seems like that will be the end of it. Later, Lorelai shows up to work to find 1000 yellow daisies for which the delivery man says she has to sign. Over the phone, Max tells her that she was right in saying his first proposal was not the done right, but she was wrong in saying he only did it because they were fighting. No matter what team you're on, you have to admit, Max knew how to propose. Sure, the first time went over really bad, but the second time he really got it right.

Hackers and computer programmers can serve as villains or heroes, it all depends on what they're getting accomplished.

We're impressed with their particular set of skills, yet sometimes, it's frightening to see how much damage they can do with just the click of a button.

If our paramour came to us asking for forgiveness after committing one of these acts, we would most likely send them packing. If we didn't, our friends would likely encourage us to seek therapy.

Wade cheates on zoe hart of dixie
When Wade and Zoe finally became a for real, everyone knows about it, actual couple, fans cheered. However, even after he got the girl, Wade's lifelong self-esteem issues did not evaporate. His belief that he would never deserve Zoe, combined with alcohol and a professional loss led him to Claudette, which led to a heartbreaking break-up. Zade fans wanted an immediate reconciliation and were furious when Zoe did not take Wade back after his love confession on Hart of Dixie Season 2 Episode 22. The writers and Zoe were blamed for Zade not being Zade anymore. The couple ended the series together because fans would not accept anything less, and by the series' end, Wade's infidelity was clearly forgotten.

Daniel shoots emily revenge
Shooting your wife on your honeymoon is a pretty clear sign that you do not deserve forgiveness. This is what Daniel did to Emily on Revenge Season 3 Episode 10 after discovering that she lied about being pregnant. After the shooting, Daniel showed no remorse, being both verbally and physically abusive to Emily before she had even recovered. It seemed that Demily was dead and some fans wanted Daniel to die with it. Then the elevator scene on Revenge Season 4 Episode 7 happened. When Emma and Ethan met, he was in a relationship with her twin sister Sutton. Ethan chose Emma, but when he was on the run with Sutton, old feelings resurfaced and the two kissed. This triangle was bound to be complicated. Maybe Ethan would never be able to truly let either twin go. For a long time, it seemed like Emma would not forgive Ethan, despite his constant pleas. When she finally decided that she loved him too much to hold it against him, he claimed he was done with her. And then the show was sadly canceled, so we'll never know if these two would have reconciled. As for whether or not they should have, well, I pose that question to you Fanatics.

5. Joel Leave Midge For His Secretary - The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

On the one hand, Joel needs to grow up a lot, and Midge deserves to spread her wings. They cannot do this together and they both know it. Love Hurts: 25 Obsessive Love Stories on TV

Love is not always love ... especially not when it comes to obsessive love.

We've seen the formula on many of our TV shows: infatuation turns to an unhealthy obsession which sometimes turns into full-on stalking.

There are various types of obsessive love.

There's the outright stalker that hopes his good charms win over the girl before he eventually kills her.

There's also the obsessed lover who hides behind a computer screen or mask, and then there are the subtler stalkers who think their behaviors are totally normal when, in fact, they're 100% creepy and dangerous.

But the one thing they all have in common?

Related: 17 TV Characters Who Throw Such Good Parties We Need An Invite

The desire to possess and control the person they have strong feelings for without accepting rejection.

And this doesn't just pertain to men; women can be just as psychologically manipulative.

Take a look below at some of the most obsessive love stories on TV!

Which couples would you add to the list?

1. Debra & John - Dirty John

Debra and john dirty john
Dirty John is a real-life story that inspired a viral podcast and later, a Bravo TV series. From the outside, Debra had a perfect life, but she couldn't find love. But when she met John, a charming nurse anesthetist, she was swept off her feet. But John wasn't what he seemed and her children quickly picked up on his conman-like tendencies. You'll never believe how this twisted love story ends.

2. Joe & Beck - YOU

Joe and peach you
Joe was a classic sociopath that did a horrible job at lurking outside of apartments, but Beck never noticed because she was too busy trying to craft the perfect life on social media. She was an easy target -- she was impressionable with low self-esteem. She thought she'd hit the jackpot when she met Joe, but little did she know, he was going to be her biggest nightmare. The series allowed you to get inside Joe's mind and understand his motivations which, at times, made you almost agree with him. Scary.

3. Elena & Damon (and Stefan) - The Vampire Diaries

Elena and damon and stefan the vampire diaries
While I was a huge #Delena fan, you have to admit that, at times, their relationship was a little creepy. Aside from their massive age difference, Damon spent hundreds of years trying to find Katherine, fell in love with her doppleganger then stole her from his brother Stefan, who also cozied up to Elena because of her resemblance to Katherine. Their relationship was toxic and controlling, but they couldn't let each other go.

4. Jen and Henry - Dawsons Creek

Jen and henry dawsons creek
Henry followed Jen around for months, stood outside her house for hours and would show up at her work just so she would talk to him. That's borderline creepy if you ask me.

5. Chuck and Blair - Gossip Girl

Chuck and blair gossip girl
We all looked at Chuck Bass through rose-tinted glass because duh, he's Chuck Bass. But really, the series tried to normalize and write off his controlling, possessive, dominant, and entitled ways as typical 'bad boy' behavior. He manipulated Blair on many occasions, tried to buy her affection with expensive gifts, and let's not forget, tried to sexually assault half the characters.

6. Peyton & Ian (Derek) - One Tree Hill

Peyton and ian derek one tree hill
One Tree Hill was known for its outrageous storylines. Ian crept into Peyton's life by pretending to be her half-brother, Derek. We all knew there was something off with him by how creepily he sniffed Peyton's hair, when he hired a prostitute to dress up like her, and eventually, when he tried to rape her.

17 Times Actors Were Replaced Mid-Series

Actors leave their shows for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes they have another role they want to pursue. Sometimes it is about the show; actors do not always like the roles they play or the people they work with.

Sometimes they leave for personal reasons such as to be with their families. And sometimes, as with the recently late and great Luke Perry, they leave the show because they have left this world behind.

Related: Enjoy UNLIMITED access to thousands of Movies and TV shows with Amazon Prime Video. WATCH ANYWHERE. CANCEL ANYTIME!

But the show must go on. When an actor wants or needs to leave a show, the writers have to cook up a reason for their departure. They might kill the character off, have the character move away, or they might simply replace the actor.

Seeing a new actor playing a beloved role can be unsettling but also intriguing. Fresh blood can put a fresh spin on an old character and it can be fun to compare the old interpretation with the new. Of course, sometimes the change may go by unnoticed and unacknowledged; this was easier to pull off before IMDB.

Take a look at our list of actors who were replaced mid-series. If we missed your favorite, let us know in the comments.

1. Darrin Stephens -- Bewitched

Darrin stephens bewitched
One of the first and most famous switcheroos took place in the 1960s on the show Bewitched. Beloved actor Dick York had to leave the show due to a chronic back issue. His replacement looked nearly identical to him and even had the same first name. In spite of this, Sargent was never as popular in the role as York and the show only lasted a couple of seasons with him as the leading man.

2. The Doctor -- Doctor Who

The doctor doctor who
Instead of letting William Hartnell's deteriorating health spell the end for this time-traveling series, the people behind Doctor Who found a fun way to keep the show going for decades. They came up with the zany idea that this elderly time-traveler was a member of an alien race who, when suffering a fatal experience, would regenerate as a new and often younger actor. As of 2019, there have been thirteen doctors, the most recent addition the first woman to tackle the role.

3. Fallon Carrington Colby -- Dynasty (Original Series)

Fallon carrington colby dynasty original series
Before Elizabeth Gillies entered the role in 2017, Fallon Carrington was made iconic as played by Pamela Sue Martin. Martin wanted out of the show, so the writers had her die in a car accident at the end of Dynasty Season 4. She reappears near the end of Season 5 with amnesia; but this time, Fallon is played by Emma Samms.

4. Morgan Matthews -- Boy Meets World

Morgan matthews boy meets world
After two years on a popular television show, Lily Nicksay's parents decided that it was too much for the adorable five-year-old and that she deserved to be a regular kid. The Morgan character was absent for half a season, reappearing as Lindsay Ridgeway who was three years older. Her brother Cory acknowledges her absence with a casual "Morgan, long time no see." to which she responds, "Yeah. That was the longest time out I've ever had."

5. Aunt Viv -- Fresh Prince of Bel Air

Aunt viv fresh prince of bel air
This switch-up was due to some infighting within the cast. The original Aunt Viv, Janet Hubert, did not get along with the show's lead and vice-versa. She left the show at the end of the third season and was replaced by Daphe Maxwell Reid.

6. Carol Willick -- Friends

Carol willick friends
The first Carol left the show because she wanted to have a bigger role on a show. While Carol Willick, later Willick Bunch, was not in a lot of episodes, she did pretty well for a guest star. She was in fifteen episodes scattered throughout the series up through season seven.

"It's complicated," isn't just a Facebook relationship status from the early 2000s. Sometimes it can be used to describe the relationships between members of the same family.

Mother and daughter relationships can be filled with emotional turbulence; on a good day.

RELATED: 17 TV Shows Rocked By a Pregnancy Plot Twist

While we all may fight with our mom's sometimes, there are some relationships that get thrown more curveballs, making them ripe with new layers of complication.

Sometimes it's a story hinged on a feeling of inadequacy because as their child grew up they don't share their parent's values. Sometimes it's a shared journey through a winding and looped road of sobriety. Sometimes your child gets picked to be used as weapon against your alien best friend.

RELATED: Mom Renewed for Two Seasons on CBS

Still, the depth and dimension displayed in these narratives make them compelling stories worth delving into over and over again.

Here are 21 of the most complicated mother and daughter relationships from the last 15 years.

1. Bonnie and Christy Plunkett (Mom)

Bonnie and christy plunkett mom
Bonnie and Christy have a very trying past. They're both recovering alcoholics who reconnected through an AA meeting and have had many ups and downs since. There was Bonnie has relapsed, Christy facing the fact that she has a gambling problem, and Bonnie confessing to knowing who Christy's father was the entire time. As turbulent as their relationship has been throughout the series run they always find a way to forgive each other and end up stronger for it.

2. Amy Pond and River Song (Doctor Who)

Amy pond and river song doctor who
Oh boy is it complicated when it comes to Amy and River. Amy's daughter, Melody, was stolen at Demon's Run, but it was later revealed that she had already met her daughter grown up. Not only did Amy skip the child rearing portion of motherhood, but her daughter also grew up to marry The Doctor; also known as, Amy's imaginary friend. Making Amy the Doctor's mother-in-law. Now let's also add non-linear meetings to that mix, and you can see what a headache it is to parse out this relationship.

3. Abby and Clarke Griffin (The 100)

Abby and clarke griffin the 100
Abby might have loved her daughter, but making one decision fundamentally changed their relationship. Since Abby sent Clarke to the ground during The 100 Season 1, Clarke has had to grow up fast and make decisions she wouldn't have otherwise made. When Abby finally gets to the ground the sixteen-year-old girl she once knew is gone having now wedged herself into the role as leader of her people.

4. Emily and Lorelai Gilmore (Gilmore Girls)

Emily and lorelai gilmore gilmore girls
Emily and Lorelai Gilmore might epitomize the term "it's complicated," when it comes to mothers and daughters. They were estranged in the original series and still had some issues to work out during "A Year in the Life." Yet, as much as they don't get each other, they both make an effort to understand the other's point of view; most of the time.

5. Rebecca and Kate Pearson (This Is Us)

Rebecca and kate pearson this is us
There's a lot of baggage behind Rebecca and Kate's relationship. Kate was always closer to her dad, and she felt like her mom compared her to herself at Kate's age. There's been a lot of growth and understanding over the years though, and now that Kate has her own baby it seems like she'll appreciate having her mom around a little more.

6. Ellis and Meredith Grey (Grey's Anatomy)

Ellis and meredith grey greys anatomy
It's no secret that Meredith Grey has lived in Ellis's shadow. From the very start of Grey's Anatomy, we've heard Meredith talk about her mother in very frank terms. Ellis wasn't very loving either, calling Meredith a disappointment at one point. Since her death, Meredith has gone on to eclipse her mother, and even though she'll always be The Daughter of Ellis Grey, she's carving out her own space. Yet, occasionally, you'll still hear her referred to as "Ellis Grey's daughter."

It may be Mother's Day, but it's important to remember that not all relationships between mother's and their children are ideal.

Not all mother's have been warm and nurting towards their children which has resulted in a lot of pain and mommy issues.

While daddy issues are more common, there's a handful of characters who suffer because of absent or overbearing mother's, mother's who pushed too hard, or even, abusive mother's.

Either way, none of these relationships are healthy due to awful parenting.

Which other characters with mommy issues would you add to the list?

1. Adam Carrington - Dynasty

Adam's mommy issues are the reason he pushed his mother, Alexis, headfirst into the fireplace and told the doctors to reconstruct her new face to look like Fallon's. He's so overprotective of the mother that "abandoned him," he's consumed with rage whenever someone says anything insulting about her.

There are times when the first love interest a character has in a series, is also the person they find their way back to in the end.

We put together a slideshow of 19 characters whose first love was their enduring love!

1. Meredith Grey - Grey's Anatomy

Meredith and Derek are seen together from the get-go. No matter what happened on the series, Meredith always loved Derek above all else. Had he not died, he and Meredith would have grown old together.

2. Lucas Scott - One Tree Hill

Lucas loved Peyton since the first day he saw her, and he even told her so in his vows. Although they were both dating different people in the pilot, it was clear that they were each other's first and last loves.

4. Emily Fields - Pretty Little Liars

We're going to ignore The Perfectionists for a minute and just focus on the original show. Going off of just Pretty Little Liars, Alison was the first person Emily loved and they did end up getting married at the show's end. We're just going to leave it at that because frankly, this relationship deserves better than what the spinoff tried to do to it.

5. Kurt Hummel - Glee

Kurt's quest for romance was a big part of his storyline on Glee. When he finally found it with Blaine, he never wanted to let it go. But unfortunately, life does happen and things get in the way. We couldn't be more thankful that they ended up married and with a baby on the way in the end.

6. Ted Mosby - How I Met Your Mother
